## Something beautiful
Bosque de Chapultepec is all about how computers can be used as a form of expression. It explores how a generative art algorithm can be used to make something beautiful that is unique to a particular place and time. Bosque de Chapultepec debuted at NFT ART CDMX in 2022, a four day celebration of generative art in Mexico City.
## Central Park of Mexico
Chapultepec is a park in the middle of Mexico City that is known all over the world for its green space. It is a historic place dating back to the Toltec culture in 1000 CE and has also been the site of many battles. Artists have been drawn to the park for a long time. My grandfather, for example, painted the scenery there. Even now, the park is a tropical escape for city dwellers who walk the park's many winding paths surrounded by old trees.
## Chochitos
The look of the project was based on the Garibaldi from El Globo, a famous bakery in the Mexican Republic. Garibaldi pastries are pound cakes dipped in apricot jam and coated with little round sprinkles called "chochitos". A visit to CDMX is not complete without tasting one of these delicious pastries.
## Behind the code:
The algorithm is made up of a system that uses a mix of circle-packing and quadtrees to fill areas of closed shapes with dots of different sizes and colors (like the chochitos). The underlying form of the composition is generated algorithmically using shapes constructed on the fly using points and lines. The shapes are lined up in a queue and then swept for possible areas where dots can be deposited so long as the dots do not overlap.

Deep Journeys #4

This work explores the concept of parallel realities and the paths we choose, reflecting on the multiple beginnings and various ends that compose our individual narratives. The pieces in the collection have 217 starting points and 247 ending points that can be matched on both ends with other pieces to create longer narratives. Some endpoints are more rare or unique, the others appear more frequently, up to 6 times. The collection invites collectors to engage in a game-like experience where they are tasked with identifying matching elements and orchestrating their individual paths, through collecting matching elements. The works in this collection are a testiment to the ever changing landscape of our environment, both natural and human-made. They echo the subtle, sometimes imperceptible transformation occurring within our surroundings, mirroring the constant, albeit gentle, metamorphosis. It is the dance of nature and civilization that is in eternal fluxus.

What's Cookin' ?

Im pleased to present my new series EX STASIS: a collection of four audiovisual art pieces which speak to my ecstatic experience of creation; a unique feeling which excites and motivates me to keep creating and exploring in the field of photography and visual art. A development from my Lux Noctis (drone lighting) project, this series focuses more on the intimate landscape, using practical in-camera lighting effects to interact with the immediate surroundings. As it gets dark, my surroundings cease to be an exterior experience and become a subliminal space, and thats when I feel most connected and aware of my sense of being. This dynamic terrestrial chiaroscuro synchronises with my sound design and music to form singular looping pieces which draws the viewer in.

LUX is a collection of 176 photographs split into four distinct phases. The sun's eleven-year oscillation is a dynamic unifying factor for all phases. Similar to four movements of a larger composition, each phase is a closed system. The images contained in a phase presaged the others. They cycle across tokens but are restricted to their own set of loops. Still, a few have broken out and remain petrified.

Anthrocinematica is an AI video collection composed of 500 perfect loop sequences. Each sequence zooms in on a single photo from a wall of photos in one of thirteen rooms, where each room is located in different countries (Ethiopia, Finland, India, US, Japan). In addition, each room has two dimensions, one where the wall of photos are of people and places in Japan and the other is of people and places in the US. This all forms an imperfect yet idealistic microcosm of human life both on a global scale, but also a personal one as the duality of each room reflects the multi-cultural heritage of the artist. Leaning into the nature of AI, these concepts are also blended together in unusual and subtle ways, which helps to show how the world is not black and white, but it is a blend of many different elements to form what makes us all human.
