Boys Noize

My name is Alex aka Boys Noize, DJ & producer from Berlin, Germany. I started to DJ in clubs when I was 16. As a teenager I was working in a house and techno record store, so when I started to make my own music I decided to create my own label to be 100% independent. The music was released through limited presses of vinyl - it was music for DJs only. You were only able to find the music in a select network of house & techno record stores around the world. 

After the first few releases, well known DJs started to play my tracks in their sets, and I suddenly was getting booked both as DJ and to remix the likes of Depeche Mode and Daft Punk (!!). Out of the 100 remixes Ive done there were indeed some hits, and these propelled me to big stages like Coachella and Glastonbury and studio sessions with A$AP Rocky, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean and Lady Gaga.It still feels surreal to think about where it all started.

This brings me to my release today. Cwejman is a classic Boys Noize banger - unreleased until now - and its a big one in my current DJ sets. The name "Cwejman" comes from one of my modules in my modular system that I've used to create the main sound of this track. 

Bringing limited editions to the digital age gives me the same vibes I had in my early days when I spent all my money on limited vinyl presses. Every DJ knows the feeling of dropping something rare in their sets, something that few others have. Offering DJs that feeling again while supporting artists is the magic of Sound.xyz

There is this beautiful aspect about how collaboration works. It is about giving, taking, and brainstorming. It is also about patience and executing an idea. This collaboration embodies this on a new level. That newness lies within the children. Sango reaches out to his children to help deliver his latest NFT project called Infinity. With the cover painted by Sangos daughter and the music created with Sangos son, he leaves room for an open canvas that allows Sango to be led artistically by his children. The title Infinity plays on the word NFT a bit. The word infinity encompasses everything a great collaboration can be. It also focuses on the unlimited opportunities children deserve to help them learn and grow.

Sango feels that Infinity is about the conversation between the future and the present. Sango seeks to inspire his children through sound while sharing something personal with the world via the metaverse. Something tangible like this serves as a reminder to keep pushing to lead the future into something beyond our dreams.

Sango dedicates this to the children of the world who are diagnosed with ASD.

PLAYTHING feat. REI AMI #48

My name is Kate Ellwanger, and I make music as Dot. I"m originally from Olympia, WA, and now spend my time between Los Angeles and Ketchum, Idaho. 

"Fever Dream" is the first single from my new EP, and each song on the project represents a different type of battle I"ve fought with grief and depression over the past year. While the instrumental of this song has a brighter and easygoing feel, the lyrics hint at some darkness underneath the glossy exterior. 

The song paints a surrealistic picture of a person"s desire to wake up from the dream states so many of us live in, but going about it in all the wrong ways -- through self-destructive behavior and romanticized substance abuse. It follows the main character on a road trip from LA to Las Vegas, with the lyrics becoming more and more nonsensical and drifting further from reality as the music progresses. 

I wrote this song as a reminder to myself that seeking altered states through those shortcuts will never lead you to true fulfillment or wakefulness -- they just keep you in a feedback loop of dishonest self-reflection, and searching for more highs that ultimately take you nowhere. 

I think this message is especially important during a time when so many of us are trying to find meaning in our lives, but what we see spread across the news and on our timelines devalues human life on so many levels. It"s easier to take on a carefree "yolo" mentality in this environment than to truly show love to ourselves and the people around us, because the cognitive dissonance becomes so overwhelming amidst current events.

SUGAR

2022 has been a revealing year in so many ways. not only have i started a new duo music project GLOWSTONE with sober rob, which has been nothing but creatively liberating, but i am also gradually coming out of a producing hiatus for my own project. over these past few years, ive been suffocating myself with pressure, afraid to even touch ableton again, and am now learning how to finally let go and find experimentation in different dance genres. SUGAR is the launching pad for this next era of self-produced music and ideas, which i couldnt be more eager to put out. 

with that being said, this year has also been revealing for the rest of us as a society; were still trying to process the holidays post-pandemic and an all-around new normal, there are the biggest social and womens rights movements happening across the world right now (hence the roe versus wade overturn reference). the weight of the world hit me hard as i was sick one week; i thought about the holidays coming up and what they would signify for certain groups and disconnected families, which prompted the first couple lines of SUGAR. 
 
while it is a love song at heart and reflects all the loves ive found over 2022, including producing, it also is a tribute to light in a dark world that is yearning to be better.

Last november I went to Tokyo to play a show and I made it a three week solo asia trip. First Tokyo, then Bangkok and Chiang mai. 
Tokyo is probably my favourite city in the world and spending time there writing music on my laptop, walking through the unique neighbourhoods and trying all the local food was very inspiring. This is one of the songs I made from my trip. Hope you enjoy it <3
