ENDEAVOURS

CANYON is about the layers and folds of rock and earth, tossed boulders and lava that cooled after destruction; events that were there before us and will be there after us; itself, these are footsteps of glacial ice ebbing across the world, a conquest not quite matched by our small attempts at immortality.

SURFACES is a mixed media piece combining photography and digital art using Procreate. It captures the surf of an ebbing tide while the aquas are like portals into the ocean"s depths while the browns are the sands on which civilization is built on. 
We are more connected than separated. 

SURFACES

This piece explores the intersection of water as life giving, represented by the reds, the tracks of civilization around these resources that led to conflict and cultural exchange over the resource rich golds and yellows as we turned from hunter gather to farmers, kings and warriors.

EUROPA

This piece combines abstract elements exploring desert and water and the mysticism that both have created in art and life. A birds" eye view of terrain gives the observer the feeling of flying and captures scale and scope of the piece.

Daughters of Poseidon

Elana swore off love because she was heart broken witnessing the cruelty of human beings. She spent centuries venturing around the world observing human evil until she found an island ruled by a wise young queen. A tribe lived on the island not knowing that the mountain would wake and fill their world with terror. As the tribe gathered into boats, Elana sang to the queen, calming her and guiding her. She guided the queen and her people across dangerous waters to another island that was surrounded by rich seas: it would become the tribe"s home for a thousand years. 
Often the queen would sail a small boat out to sea and meet the siren, both became dear friends. Then the queen"s hair turned to white locks and her eyes grew milky with age. When the queen died, the whole island heard a siren"s mournful song on the waves and on the wind.

Eada fell in love with a dashing gallant pirate; he and his crew sailed the seas rescuing human cargo and setting them free. One day his ship sailed into a storm and she sang a song that calmed the waters. The crew fell into a deep sleep and the waves carried them to an island cove. They woke safe and fished in the rich waters till they were ready to leave. On their last night before they were to set off, Eada crept on board and seduced her pirate.
In times of trouble, he would listen to her siren song over the waves and on the winds and find peace knowing she would guide him to safe shores.

Ereene fell in love with a human who sung a melancholy song on a slave ship; she listened to his words and wept for the lost souls who were his cargo, he longed to free them but was powerless. She turned into her human form and in the dead of night crept on board, killing the slavers and setting the captives free. 
They found islands off course and settled there. Generation after generation they sang songs of the siren who saved them
