Max Memes

Background  
This piece was inspired by the release of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem the movie and reimagines Max as four cruisin turtle vans. The style and colors are inspired by the original 1989 cartoon series as well as the original 1989 action figures.

The overall design harks back to the kids magazines of the early 90s that often had cardstock inserts of popular cartoon characters or celebrities for fans to collect. They would also often, quite inexplicably, instruct kids to cut the cards along the dotted lineswith a helpful scissors icon included. All in all, this piece is both an ode to the fun, silly things I collected as a kid and a tribute to my favorite mutants.
