Frozen Planet by Concurrence Collective

The Gastlosen is a mountain range of the Swiss Prealps lay between the cantons of Fribourg, Bern, and Vaud. They form a 12 km chain stretching from Jaun to Rougemont, culminating at the Dent de Savigny, elevation 2,252 m, just southwest of the Dent de Ruth, where the three cantonal borders meet.

Whilst exploring through this region, the weather had been less than favourable throughout the 4 hour hike, with overcast skies and temperatures reaching -10c. However whilst heading back down to base, the sun finally broke through, casting a beautiful golden glow on the mountains. 

To this day, this is one of my favourite landscape images captured, due to the stark contrast between warm and cold coupled with the feeling evoked when we thought that all hope was lost and the sun finally came out to play.
