I rented a DJI Mavic 2 Pro for my first holiday in Norway in 2019. Our holiday home was on a lake near Kviteseid, a tiny village in the Telemark region. During a short break from the rain, I was able to fly the drone from the terrace. If you look closely, you can see the kayak that belonged to the holiday home.

By chance, I came across the Aerial Photo Award at Photopia, a major photography trade fair in Hamburg. I submitted this picture without much expectation. So I was all the more pleased that I made it into the top 10 with my picture from Norway. The winner was chosen by voting at the fair. On the day of the award ceremony, I had a very slim lead right up to the end and in the end I actually won. It"s one of my favourite photos of the holiday and I"m all the more delighted to have won first place in such a big photo competition.
