During her research for the book Gebrauchsanweisung fr Tansania, Monika Czernin learned about The Ropes of Hope. As co-founder of bookbridge she decided to help the Tanzanian NGO save coral reefs. With excitingly beautiful digital collectibles/ NFTs created by artist jink.one. 40 percent of all revenues go to The Ropes of Hope. 

"The Ropes of Hope" is saving coral reefs. The Tanzanian-based NGO trains fishers to grow coral, monitors changes in marine biodiversity and records ancestral knowledge. There are about 80 aging fishermen, almost all of them denied the opportunity of formal education. When they were young, the coral reefs were richer and more diverse. The Ropes of Hope relies heavily on the wisdom of the elders and formally records their learnings.
