Featuring a charming cast of critters who pout, sing, dance, and frolic for your amusement, the stars of the show are our cat heroes Cobi and Twipsy. These two long-running characters of Kohs feature in much of her work since 2015, including a collaboration with CrypToadz in 2023. Composed in moments of relaxation and inspiration, each NFT in Jooyeon Kohs Matinee: Zest is a unique lesson in leisure, and a reminder to let a little more joy into your life, whenever you have the time. Seoul-based artist Jooyeon Koh finds inspiration in the everyday and gives backstories to everything she sees. From pets to produce, she envisions a universe where everything and everyone has a role to play. Bringing these narratives to life begins with pencil sketches, which serve as the foundation for her ideas evolution across mediums that include digital, machine embroidery, canvas, and more. In particular, Kohs favorite protagonists and the ones she revisits most often are her cat heroes Cobi and Twipsy who serve as the star of her most recent endeavor Matinee: Zest with Orangehare. Previously, they had also starred in The Charade Show, which Koh rendered in art books, canvas, and embroidery before crossing into digital realms alongside CrypToadz in 2023 as an NFT project. In addition, artist Jooyeon Koh has collaborated with various Korean companies and fashion magazines, and is actively participating in domestic and international art fairs such as the Tokyo Art Book Fair and Seoul Design Festival.
