This image was created in Badlands National Park. It's undoubtedly the best sunrise I have ever seen in my life, and by all accounts, I shouldn't have seen it. My friends and I had road tripped 20+ hours overnight to spend a few days in the Badlands. On the second to last day we were out exploring a lesser known area of the park and accidentally stumbled onto this location. In a last minute decision we decided to come back the following morning to shoot the sunrise instead of leaving the park. As the first light started coming up we knew it was going to be special, and it just got better and better. I was running around shooting with the biggest smile on my face, just waiting for the sun to break above the low hanging cloud so I could capture this image. It's truly special to me in so many ways. It's a constant reminder to push myself to get outside with my camera no matter what.
