The Escallonia Ligustrina is a very common, tall plant and can be found virtually anywhere. It blooms in early summer.  It has thin, spoon shaped leaves, which are usually dark red. It also grows huge flowers, which can be dark gold, dark brown, light red and light purple.    These plants grow in decent numbers, but it's fairly simple to control and maintain their growth.  They can be cooked and eaten.    As a defense mechanism the Escallonia Ligustrina can collapse its flowers when it detects vibrations.  They rely on water currents to carry their seeds away to reproduce. Once pollinated, they grow delicious, small fruits.
