28 Days of Surrealism

In the depths of my slumber,  
I dream of a man who's not there.  
Standing waist deep in a stream,  
Staring at the sun with a vacant stare.

He whispers softly to me,  
Of the beach where we'll one day go.  
And we'll walk together hand in hand,  
As the sea waves ebb and flow.

In this dream within a dream,  
Time stands still and the world is still.  
My great-grandfather's by my side,  
And everything is at peace and tranquil.

But as I wake from my peaceful slumber,  
I realize that he's no longer there.  
Yet his memory lives on in my mind,  
And in my heart, I'll always care.

For though he's gone, his spirit lives on,  
And his dream of the beach will come true.  
For one day we'll meet again, my friend,  
And I'll walk with him, just me and you.
