 One of Maya's favorite songs *Sound of Silence*, has the following line: "And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made". That reminds us of what we consider important in our day and age. The purpose of technology aims to bring about perfection. Today, we look up to technology as our new religion, worshipped for its speed, precision...perfection. But many ancient cultures worshipped the simple, the fragile, the spiritual, rather than the material. He is an abstract being made of simple paper - an origami man, fragile and exposed to the elements. She is an advanced machine, flawless, sleek, and polished. Which one do you consider more 'perfect'?
