This is a digital photograph that I captured during summer in Northern Alaska.  My favorite thing about Alaska is that during the summer, the sun doesn"t set until 2:00 AM and it never gets dark.  I was on a 800 mile road trip with some friends, and as we were driving down a lonely mountain road in the middle of the night we came around a corner and saw the moon glowing from behind a distant mountain.  As we pulled over the moon began rising over a peak and bathed the landscape in golden light, mixing beautifully with the deep blues of dusk.  Only in Alaska can you experience a moment like this, and this photograph takes me back to one of the most memorable moments of my life.
