Efe is the name given to the leaders of the people (Zeybeks) who lived in Western Anatolia in history, armed and rebelled against the existing order for various reasons. An Efe is the head of Zeybek groups. He is chosen as an efe among the brave and brave people who have done heroism among the Zeybeks. Zeybeks raise "Kzans (young soldiers)" by order of Efe. Young people who are educated by Zeybeks and consist of armed honor men are called "Kzan". After being trained by the Zeybeks for a certain time, they are taken to the Zeybek group.  
 
Zeybek is also a folk dance seen in the Western Anatolia region. Zeybek is divided into types within itself. It is played by one person or with several dancers lined up in a circle. Zeybek represents a brave man who protects the people.
