The Meta Art Club

Pioneering Chinese blockchain and crypto artist Liu Jia Yings (CryptoZRs) unique work is defined by its purity within the medium, stemming from her in-depth, academic knowledge of coding and blockchain programming to inform her practice as an artist. The themes of cryptocurrencies, credit creation, trading and the measurement of participation and interaction feature in her spontaneous and sometimes self-generating digital works. Exploring ideas around evolutionary biology and human psychology, Liu Jia Ying studies the mechanisms of crypto in her artwork. Using coding and datasets to build auction mechanisms into some of her artworks, she invites the viewer to virtually interact and, by placing live bids, she invites the exploration of  and therefore the psychology around  the bidding process. Her art raises questions of value  both in fiat and cryptocurrency terms  and the social ramifications of value distribution in the real and virtual realms.     1/1
