The Ether Goddess Genesis

Claire was born to a family of travelling merchants. She never knew her father, as he was killed in a bandit raid on their caravan when she was just a baby. Her mother did her best to raise Claire and her two sisters on her own, but it was tough going. They often had to scavenge for food and shelter, and were constantly on the move to avoid bandits and worse. When Claire was old enough, she took up the family business and became a travelling merchant herself. Claire always had a knack for finding her way around, no matter where she went. She could read maps like nobody's business, and had an uncanny sense of direction. This made her an invaluable asset to her caravan when they were trying to find their way through unfamiliar territory. When Claire was in her early twenties, disaster struck her caravan while they were crossing through a treacherous mountain pass. A landslide blocked the path ahead of them, and there was no way around it. Claire volunteering to scout ahead for a way through, and she found a narrow crevice that they could all squeeze through if they were careful. Leading the way, Claire managed to get everyone safely through to the other side. But just as they were emerging from the crevice, another landslide came crashing down, trapping Claire on the other side. Her friends and family tried unsuccessfully to rescue her, but after three days they were forced to give up and continue on without her. Claire was presumed dead. But she wasn't dead; far from it.She had survived the landslide by taking shelter in a small cave just off the crevice. And now she was stranded in unfamiliar territory with no supplies and no idea where she was or how to get back home again. But Claire is nothing if not resourceful, and she soon began making her own way through the wilderness; hunting for food, building shelters and learning how to survive in this hostile environment. Eventually she stumbled upon a small ranger outpost that took her in and taught her their ways. And so began Claire's new life as a ranger; patrolling the wilderness, protecting travellers from harm and living off the land that she has come to know so well over the years
