This is the third piece from my "Hidden Portal" series exploring where the outdoors and science fiction intersect. 

I took this photo of a sailboat on a sunset cruise of the Long Island Sound from Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Connecticut. There are countless tales of boats disappearing at sea - whether in the middle of the ocean like the legendary Bermuda Triangle or close to port like the Ghost Ship of New Haven. What if the reason for these disappearances is the existence of inter-dimensional seams that sailors unknowingly navigate through? Could that be the explanation for these vessels disappearing without a trace?
