 GASHADOKURO is a yokai, a giant skeleton formed from the souls and grudges of the dead, created in children"s books in the 1960s, and differs in origin from the yokai of folklore.The giant skeleton in "Soma no Kouchiura" painted by Kuniyoshi Utagawa in 1845 is not actually a GASHADOKURO, but has been cited as the root of GASHADOKURO  because it is a large skeleton.Skeletal specters have existed since the 800s.
