The Gineeren Chronicles

Fear is a powerful placebo. It envelops the mind. Outwardly, what is known about Big G induces fear by sight alone. His towering thick stature. His seldom concealed blade. His unspeakable capabilities imagined, yet never witnessed or expressed. 

The mind of one who's lifetime  was spent in service to protect the Royal Houses.

Inwardly, the observer finds fear surrounding each and every unknown the imagination can fathom. What momentum that raging bull could build should it ever see red? What horrors the blade could commit should it ever unsheathe? What deadly talents lurk in the subconscious thoughts of one who was trained to protect the most powerful beings in the world?

Having faced his own greatest fear  and enduring the fall of his master's house - not much remains for this mysterious entity to cling to.

All but a promise, to protect and serve  the last generation of pure Gineeren blood. The guardian of all that once was, of all  that is to come.

Burdened  by the sins of their father, keeper of a dying faith, a fading tradition  left in his wake. 

All around him  he sees reminders of how he had failed. His mind still haunted  by all he impaled. 

He stood in the street, motionless and still. He would make this moment  the last time he'd feel.

All regret  and every moment he missed. Every feeling of "I should have", " I could have", and every "What if."

Soon the sun would rise  behind The Tracties Tower. Illuminating the city  under rule  by a new power.

None of it mattered, there was nothing he could do. Only keep his promise, fulfill his purpose  and pay his dues.

The Royal Gaurd of the Genegier Ni. His official title at the turn of the tide. Now the only bit of knowledge  to use as his guide. He had a new duty now, to set every thought  and every feeling aside. 

The last remaining witness to his former master's ways.  A duty to protect them  throughout each and every  coming day. 

Only he knew thier Father, only he could show them his ways. His protection now extended  as keeper of the faith.

In this  he knew no competition, in this  no one to conquer. By this he would expel his anger  drawing panic and fear from any onlooker.

He drew his sword, cast it down to his side. And let out a scream  piercing every window to be heard in side.

It was the scream of warrior, in all faith to Gineer. With it  his past got carried  as he stormed off  and both disappeared.

Not a single Gineeren saw him, not a single Gineeren knew.  This was the last time they'd hear him, his words now but a few.
