Our 19th Bootyshaker is the designer, maker, writer, big brain, and educator: Mec.

The multidisciplinary powerhouse became known in Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces for holding extremely lengthy open forums discussing the topic of web3 and its potential. If youve listened to Mec speak, you know the feeling of being completely blown away by this womans intelligence and drive to take action.

As much as she loves creating, building, singing, and dreaming, as a woman of color, she has recognized that at the cusp of this new technology there is work to do. Mec is putting in the time, doing the work, and making moves to create the kind of tangible support and education that can help diverse talent get in and start to build in this space. The ship she is building to steer us there is MecX Dao, which is currently raising funds through the help of a Gitcoin Grant.

Its people like Mec that remind us that the structures that exist are deliberately built and we have a choice in who we choose to support and give a voice to. Thank you, Mec, for doing the work most of us can barely wrap our minds around and striving to make this space as fair and equitable as possible.
