During his closing argument on October 2nd, 1995, in the trial of The People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson, defence lawyer Johnnie Lee Cochran Jr. stated to the jury, "If it doesn"t fit, you must acquit", in reference to the defendant not being able to fit his hand into the glove that the prosecution had put forward as a key piece of evidence against him earlier in the trial.  
The jury took just 4 hours to conclude that the defendant was not guilty of the murder of his ex wife and her lover.
