Kingyo in the Park

Because my friend had the flu, what was supposed to be a trip for three became a solo adventure for me. While having a friend to chat with and share immediate feelings with is great, I have to say that traveling alone is even more liberating.

I can walk along the coastline for two hours without worrying about someone else getting tired, and I can take a deserted path on the way back without worrying about someone being afraid to take risks. I can watch other people play coin pushers in the arcade, chat with locals over a Bloody Mary in a cafe, and then read "Conversation in the Cathedral" as the sky gradually turns dark.

In short, the weekend is perfect for a solo trip to the seaside.
