Rooted in the juxtaposition of nature and violence, this short - seemingly illogic story - feeds us contradicting themes of tranquility within chaos as we are taken through scenes of blooming flora with birds chirping in the distance, to gunshots and explosions. The contrast in these scenes creates a disturbance between the purity of the world we inhabit and the man-made destruction we leave behind us.

Throughout this bewildering odyssey, the observer is fed glimpses of living phantasmal obscurities as they arise from stretches of greenery - transfiguring in appearance as they traverse their surroundings. In the opening moments of this piece, we see a human form seemingly rise from slumber, as they wake in a mysterious dreamland. This exordium pays significance to the narrative of the piece, suggesting imitation of both the dreamer and the observer - as though, they themselves are embodied within the diegesis.

During the opening of this video, we are transported from grey hues into a world of fun and colour, whilst the sounds of a distant ice cream truck contest through reverberant thunder. These contrasting components represent sounds from our waking life as they bleed into the dream realm - usually during the stages of Hypnagogia, as we transition from wakefulness into sleep - confining the observer in a state of the in-between.

In a liminal zone laced with feverish nostalgia, nomadic forms drift in and out of vacant corridors and connecting back rooms, lurking in plain sight of the uncannily familiar spaces. With a particular ominous elegance, these fluid structures of elasticity instil the feeling of not truly being alone in a seemingly forsaken location. Metaphorically, shedding light on experiences within the dream realm that correspond to location, atmosphere and inner premonitions.
