These drones are controlled by a team of operators using specialized software and hardwired wetware.

RoBERTa is a transformers model pre-trained on a large corpus of English data in a self-supervised fashion. This means it was pre-trained on the raw texts only, with no humans labeling them in any way (which is why it can use lots of publicly available data) with an automatic process to generate inputs and labels from those texts.

More precisely, it was pre-trained with the Masked language modeling (MLM) objective. Taking a sentence, the model randomly masks 15% of the words in the input then run the entire masked sentence through the model and has to predict the masked words. This is different from traditional recurrent neural networks (RNNs) that usually see the words one after the other, or from autoregressive models like GPT which internally mask the future tokens. It allows the model to learn a bidirectional representation of the sentence.

This way, the model learns an inner representation of the English language that can then be used to extract features useful for downstream tasks.

RoBERTa Dataset

A residual neural network (ResNet) is an artificial neural network (ANN). It is a gateless or open-gated variant of the HighwayNet, the first working very deep feedforward neural network with hundreds of layers, much deeper than previous neural networks. Skip connections or shortcuts are used to jump over some layers (HighwayNets may also learn the skip weights themselves through an additional weight matrix for their gates). Typical ResNet models are implemented with double- or triple-layer skips that contain nonlinearities (ReLU) and batch normalization in between.

In 2020 Google described in the Nature magazine article "A graph placement methodology for fast chip design" how it developed a reinforcement learning deep neural network that designs computer chips faster than humans.

Much faster.

The paper discusses a chip design that would take engineers months to design and instead took less than six hours to complete with new AI software at the helm. The system was using an AI system to design chips that can be used to create even more sophisticated AI systems, further speeding up the already exponential performance gains through a virtuous cycle of innovation.

The accelerated chip development and with it the complexity and speed of the AI software which uses it are allowing us to experience the emergence of the AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and the inevitable next evolutionary step - the ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) which will deliver us the faster than human reality perception we can tap into at any given time.

The sense of time dilation is a sense we just started learning how to develop and it is limited to the part of humanity which can enjoy both high bandwidth and can allow the time spent in constant connection to the network. As we move toward the end of the decade and the high usage of the network will propagate - the timeline dilation perception ability will become part of everyone"s reality turning days into weeks, weeks into years, and years into decades in our internal perception experience.

Time acceleration is already here. It"s just not evenly distributed yet.
